What’s Your Prayer for Your Family?

What are your goals and dreams for your family’s discipleship?

Yesterday my parents hosted a Heroic Life Discipleship booth at the Southern Illinois Christian Home Educators Conference.

The keynote speaker, Todd Wilson, spoke about dreaming big as you lead your family to know and follow Jesus.

Do you dream that the hearts of your children would catch the vision of a life wholly given to Jesus? Do you hope and pray for them to stand strong in the fight of faith and to be used by God to gain spiritual ground in this world for His glory?

How will you lead them to know and follow Jesus like this?

Here’s what one dad says about his goals for his family’s discipleship:

Goals for Family Discipleship

My name is Beau Matzat; I am married with four children. We have some goals in mind, my wife and I, when we approach the subject of family discipleship.

First of all we want it to be Christ-glorifying and Biblically centered, and we want to be consistent. Heroic Life Family Discipleship helped us accomplish both of those goals. The material is completely saturated in a Christ-glorifying content and it’s very biblically centered, and it also helped us be consistent.

Because of the way it’s laid out, the simplicity of its approach, and yet the richness of it’s content, it helped us have a pathway to walk down which enabled us to be consistent and know where we’re going each evening as we gathered as a family.

We really have found that the Heroic Life Family Discipleship is an extremely helpful tool for our family as we cultivated family discipleship time in our home, and we believe it will be a helpful tool for others as well.

5 Prayers for Your Family

If you don’t have a vision for your family’s discipleship yet, or maybe you’re not sure how to begin, here are five prayers that make a great starting point in leading your family to walk with Jesus.

  1. Jesus, please make Your home in the heart of our family.
  2. What is Your vision for our family?
  3. How can we begin to invest in that vision daily?
  4. Lord, will you draw the hearts of each person in our family to love and follow You?
  5. Please bring unity and lasting growth in our home, and use us to be a blessing to others.
